PREPARATIONS for the Love Zimbabwe Festival, a ground-breaking initiative that brings together various Christian organisations across Zimbabwe, have begun in a high note with internationally-acclaimed United States evangelist Andrew Palau leading what is set to be one of the country’s biggest evangelism festivals in September.
The Zimbabwe Love Festival preparations kicked off at the Harare Exhibition Park on Thursday, with local gospel singer Tembalami headlining the entertainment section.
The festival, set to take place in September, is organised by local churches in partnership with the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Council of Churches, and the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference, among
others.
Activities planned before the festival include medical clinics, eyeglass clinics, outreaches to schools, orphanages, and prisons, and dinners tailored for business people.
“It’s a party being thrown for Zimbabwe by the church,” Palau said.
“We want people to see that Christianity is a joyful proposition.
“Serving together, we can reach out to every member of the community right there in the city.”

Bishop Never Mparutsa expressed excitement about the festival’s unique approach to soul winning, tailored for unbelievers.
“As a church, we are serving them to bring them to the knowledge of Jesus Christ,” he said.
Father Maseko saw this as a victory for the church and country, as it unifies many denominations.
“Christianity wins as people from different backgrounds give themselves to Christ and join various churches,” he added.
The festival, which are featuring local and international artists, are being held at the Zimbabwe Grounds in Highfield, Harare, from yesterday to tomorrow.
Tembalami expressed his joy at being part of this historic event, which demonstrates the unity of the Church in Zimbabwe and aims to win souls to Christ.
Palau, the son of renowned evangelist Luis Palau, has followed in his father’s footsteps to become a respected evangelist.
Despite growing up in a godly family, Palau did not accept Christ until he was 27 years old.
His personal experience has shaped his ministry, and he is now dedicated to spreading the Gospel and uniting Christians.
